In the MENA region the Poverty Reduction and Economic Management Group (MNSPR) is responsible for the Bank’s work on economic policy, public sector governance, trade, gender and poverty. MNSPR comprises two units: economic policy, poverty and gender (MNSED) with a Lead Economist in the front office, and public sector and governance (MNSPS). The work program includes lending operations, non-lending technical assistance and a large AAA portfolio – with approximately 50 staff and consultants located in headquarters and country offices and managed by two Sector Managers under the guidance of a Sector Director.
MNSPR has an opening for a Senior Public Sector Specialist in its Kuwait program. The position, which is funded by the Government of Kuwait, is based in our office in Kuwait City, which is headed by a Country Manager. The Kuwait program covers a range of economic policy and public sector governance activities with a strong focus on public expenditure management issues. The position which is suitable also for economists with a public expenditure management background is designed to support the economic policy and the public sector governance parts of the MNSPR program which is based on reimbursable technical assistance.
