Senior Finance Manager

We provide comprehensive services in the areas of technical assistance, social investment programming, project management and business development. Specialized in the sectors of health, water & sanitation, education and rural livelihoods, our clients include bilateral and multilateral development agencies, the private sector, Non-Governmental Organizations and other development stakeholders.
We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Finance Manager to be based at our office in Kampala, Uganda. The Senior Finance Manager will have overall responsibility to ensure financial accounts management for the company.
Primary roles and responsibilities include:
Financial management and accounting • Cash flow management and projection • Preparation of monthly and annual budgets • Analysis of overhead expenses • Analysis and enhancement of financial systems • Preparation of monthly management accounts • Preparation of accounts for year-end audit • Support accounting team in carrying out audit • Ensure compliance with local tax laws in relation to financial activities • Maintain financial records in QuickBooks • Bank statement reconciliation
Project financial management • Analysis of project budgets and consultancy contracts • Management of project budget, financial transactions and reporting • Monitoring expenditure against budget, invoicing, receipt of payments, payments outgoing to consultants • Ensure compliance on all financial issues in contracts • Set up or modify existing accounting procedures to comply with client’s demands • Develop and monitor financial reporting systems for projects • Undertake internal audits on major projects • Support external audits on projects as required
Accounts/Receivables Management • Oversee and monitor payments and ensure proper payment tracking • Oversee and monitor all incoming funds • Monitor payments through bank statements
Skills and experience
• Higher degree in relevant field • Minimum three years’ relevant experience • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail • Knowledge of Quicbooks and advanced Excel skills • Excellent computer skills • High degree of flexibility and creativity • Good inter‐personal skills
