The Senior Project Officer works with Red Cross staff, volunteers and other stakeholders to provide overall coordination and support to the development of youth health and wellbeing services nationally within Red Cross. This role has a particular focus on two flagship Red Cross programs - save-a-mate and Talk Out Loud.
Save-a-mate is an education and awareness building program which assists young people to prevent, recognize and respond to emergencies resulting from alcohol and other drug use. Talk Out Loud is an education and awareness raising program which assists young people to better understand mental health issues, how best to support each other and promote help seeking behaviour when issues arise.
This role is also responsible for ongoing monitoring and endorsement of state and territory staff, coordination and support of national working groups, review and production of resources and key documents, and the support and development of the Red Cross Festivals and Events initiative.
