Summary of Responsibilities
Reporting to the Regional Finance Manager, Senior Financial Analyst will act as the change agent in Mali zone and contribute to the risk management process. Responsibilities will require regular communication with Zone Management / Accounting team / Regional Finance. This position is based in Bamako, Mali, international travel will be required.
Specific duties
- Acting as the key lead in budgeting and forecasting process for Mali zone
- Generating monthly financial reports using HFM and Data Warehouse / validating accuracy thereof
- Regular P&L and Job Cost reviews with Zone Management
- Generating and maintaining budget and forecast files
- Maintaining various online and offline reports for management
- Working with Accounting team to ensure proper coding and inter-co invoicing
- Working with Operations and Accounting on internal control improvements
- Regular PO and accrual review
- Working with Accounting and Operations on inventory implementation
- Assisting Legal, Tax and Accounting with ensuring statutory compliance in countries of operation
- Responding to various inquiries from Zone Managers and Regional Finance
- Monitoring fixed asset register and related systems
- Contributing to the bidding process
- Assisting with new system implementation and other projects
- Ad-hoc analytical tasks as assigned

Selection Criteria
The right person will possess or be working towards the following position requirements
- Post Secondary Accounting Diploma or Degree
- Working towards an accounting designation
- 3-5 years financial experience
- Experience with budgeting and internal controls
- IFRS knowledge
- Exceptional communication skills: English, French
- Excellent time management skills and strong sense of urgency
- Strong computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite – particularly Excel & Access
- Experience with ERP
- HFM, Cognos, Crystal, Business Intelligence / WEBI, Oracle – assets
Personal abilities:
Detail oriented; Analytical; willing to work long (sometimes odd) hours; ability to be flexible
Team Player; VERY organized (precise with regard to documentation & follow up)
Fluent in spoken and written English.
