Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the general supervision of the Head of Office (HoO) and in coordination with Project Assistant II on the Project European Migration Network (EMN) National Contact Point (NCP) activities in the Republic of Croatia, the incumbent will be support the implementation of all the EMN NCP project activities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Perform general office tasks according to the IOM's and donor´s administrative rules and practices including correspondence, surveys, logistics, procurement and other;
- Gather and archive data, information and supporting documentation necessary for the project implementation;
- Maintain the database of contacts relevant for EMN activities;
- Communicate with various stakeholders;
- Actively participate in the meetings of the project team as well as attend official meetings and appointments if needed;
- Provide clerical assistance in the monitoring and evaluation of the project as well as the preparation of reports on EMN activities;
- Draft minutes;
- Assist with timely implementation of project activities, e.g. organization and logistics of events, conferences, workshops and similar;
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries;
- Monitor and order stationary and other office supplies;
- Draft internal documents to facilitate payments and track invoices;
- Act as an interpreter (Croatian-English, English-Croatian) if required;
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- High school diploma, University degree an added advantage;
- At least three years of relevant professional experience working in an office environment and carrying out administrative support tasks.
Experience
- Proven ability to work independently and in a team on the assigned tasks.
- Good administrative and organizational skills.
- Work experience with an international organization is an asset.
- IOM specific project support experience and/or training an advantage.
- Good command of MS Office package – certification an asset.
- Driving licence B advantageous.
Languages
Fluency in English and Croatian languages is required.

Appointment will be subject to certification that the candidate is medically fit for appointment and verification of residency, visa and authorizations by the concerned Government, where applicable.
Only candidates residing in either the country of the duty station or from a location in a neighbouring country that is within commuting distance of the duty station will be considered. In all cases, a prerequisite for taking up the position is legal residency in the country of the duty station, or in the neighbouring country located within commuting distance, and work permit, as applicable.
