Established in 1951, IOM is the leading inter-governmental organization in the field of migration and works closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. IOM is dedicated to promoting humane and orderly migration for the benefit of all. It does so by providing services and advice to governments and migrants.
Context:
Under the direct supervision of the Head of Office IOM Zagreb, the incumbent will be accountable for assisting in the implementation of project activities.
Core Functions / Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the implementation and coordination of project activities.
- Draft, prepare and disseminate project related information material to a variety of actors.
- Assist in liaison with project beneficiaries, donors and/or partner agencies, as well as with any other stakeholders for coordinating implementation activities.
- Assist preparation of various project reports documentation in line with donor and/or IOM’s requirements.
- Assist Head of Office in preparing supporting documentation for submission to the donors and/or auditors upon request.
- Assist in drafting project ideas, concept note and/or proposals, and contribute to project development activities.
- Attend official meetings, workshops and perform duty travel as required by the supervisor.
- Provide support to the other team members, ensuring they receive the IOM-specific training and tools needed to perform their tasks as required.
- Assist in initiating and monitoring of project payment requests, and in coordination with resource management on project budget forecasting and reporting;
- Assist with logistical and/or organizational project.
- Keep abreast of Croatian and EU policies and legislation relating to asylum and migration.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Completed High School degree from an accredited academic institution, with five years of relevant professional experience. University degree in Social Science, Political Science, International Relation or a related field an advantage.
Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental and NGOs actors.
- Knowledge of Croatian and EU migration and asylum policies and actors.
- Work experience with an international organization is an asset.
- IOM specific project development experience and/or training an advantage
- Organization and/or facilitation of trainings/workshops an advantage
Languages
Fluency in English and Croatian languages is required.
