Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to spur its continued development and increase the visibility of PEP and the researchers it supports in national and international research and policy circles. Established in 2002, the Partnership for Economic Policy (PEP) is a public, not-for-profit organization devoted to the improvement of socioeconomic well-being in developing countries by promoting greater participation of local expertise in the analysis of economic development and policy.
PEP operates as a global and open network of researchers and research institutions. Its objective is to train local researchers to apply cutting-edge methodologies to the analysis of key economic and social policy challenges in developing countries and to offer high level expertise and high quality scientific evidence to policymakers at the national, regional and global levels. PEP is currently implementing a second phase of a major policy research program with funding from the Department for International Development (DFID) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC), in addition to various other research, training and policy analysis activities.
In this context, PEP is seeking a dynamic and visionary Executive Director to spur its continued development and enable the network to deliver high quality results and increase the visibility of PEP and the researchers it supports in national and international research and policy circles.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Executive Director has the overall primary management and oversight role in the organization. Her/his key responsibilities include the coordination and facilitation of the Partner Organizations and researchers responsible to implement PEP programs; the design and implementation of all strategic plans, programs and activities; oversight of financial and human resources to optimize the performance and effectiveness of the organization; public relations; and resource expansion among current and potential donors. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for ensuring the long-term sustainability of PEP and therefore supporting the regular review of its work.Requirements
•PhD or equivalent in Economics or a related field.•Extensive knowledge and significant experience in a senior management position.
•Strong research credentials, leadership skills, financial acumen
•Substantial management experience in a not-for-profit environment.
•Strategic thinking with strong communication and networking skills.
•Ability to promote and maintain a collaborative working environment within the network of research partners.
•Good knowledge of French will be an asset for this position.
