Capacity Development Manager
The Capacity Development Manager (CDM), in close collaboration with the other members of the LSF management team, will lead the development, ensure and coordinate implementation of the capacity development approach for LSF implementing partners (legal aid providers, incl. paralegal units).
Additionally she/he will lead the development, ensure and coordinate implementation of an orientation
and sensitization approach for local government authorities in all districts of the country in order to
increase their understanding and positively influence attitudes towards promotion and protection of
human rights, with emphasis on women’s rights, legal aid and legal empowerment.
Based on identification of capacity development requirements the CDM will develop a holistic approach
towards capacity development for implementing partners that may be complemented by individual
skills development through training, mentoring and coaching. The CDM will incorporate recent and
proven capacity development approaches and methods to maximize effectiveness.
The CDM will report to the Director Programs.
Requirements:
General Qualifications:
Masters degree in relevant field from a recognised university;

7-10 years of relevant experience working in increasingly senior positions in capacity building,
organisational development, management of change and/or organisational learning.
Specific Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in organizational change, coordinating and managing of capacity
building and capacity development of CSOs. Proficiency with activities, theories, methods and
technology in capacity development/building.
Knowledge of and experience with monitoring and evaluation of organizational capacity
development, capacity building.
Experience in the legal sector, with paralegal operations, other legal aid providers and legal
empowerment will be a distinct advantage.
Experience with results based management is an advantage.
Ability to design, program and oversee training, orientation and positive sensitization of
government officials.
Strong strategic, planning and communication skills.
Ability to develop and sustain good working relationships internally and externally
Ability to organize complex large scale training and/or events
Fluency in both Kiswahili and English (written and spoken).
