SECRETARY-GENERAL
CLGF promotes local democracy and good governance in the 53 Commonwealth countries. The Secretary-General leads the organisation, its management and finances, including negotiating grant funding. The position entails liaison with city, local and central government members and networking with the Commonwealth Secretariat and key partners, including the corporate sector, at senior level.
We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead the organisation and its work. The applicant must be results-orientated and experienced in international development cooperation. They must understand the local government sector and possess excellent communication skills and sensitivity to deal with different cultural/ political environments. There is frequent travel outside the UK.
Salary: salary/benefits package- c. £100,000 pa (including pension).
