VOLUNTARY MEDICAL MALE CIRCUMCISION OFFICER (VMMCO (1)
VMMCO will report to VMMC Manager and will have the following responsible for:
In Collaboration with Council Health Management Teams, provide clinical mentorship and supportive supervision to health care facilities implementing VMMC activities.
Conduct quarterly quality assurance and monitor adherence to National VMMC guidelines.
Assist to develop annual VMMC work plan and ensures VVMC targets achieved by 100%. .
Planning and execution of VMMC campaign in geographical program areas.
Ensure that VMMC demand creation activities in collaboration with the local media,
local government authorities and other stake holders are conducted.
Collaborate with M&E unit and ensure:
Availability of national VMMC, M&E tools at district and facility level
Proper documentation at the VMMC static sites and outreach sites through regular mentorship and onsite training
Ensure timely reporting of all VMMC reports to required reporting levels
Data utilization by health care workers at facilities with VMMC services
Use of VMMC data and establish Quality Improvement initiatives specifically for
VMMC services
Facilitate linkages of VMMC services in both private and public health facilities.
Work with region and district teams to support integration of VMMC services into HIV prevention and other initiatives as appropriate.
Ensure documentation of best practices and Lesson learnt from program implementation.
Collaborate closely with regional VMMC focal person in VMMC program implementation
Assist the VMMC manager in all duties concerning VMMC not limited to proper and timely forecasting and ordering of VMMC supplies and commodities and perform any other related assignment as may be assigned by immediate supervisor and/or RPM.
Requirements: Education and experience:
Medical degree in Clinical Medicine
A public health master's degree is an added advantage
Technical expertise of at least 2 years in VMMC service delivery
A strong understanding of barriers and facilitators of VMMC services
Ability to supervise and mentor health service providers
Knowledge in quality improvement initiatives in VMMC
Excellent team building and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
