MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH FIELD OFFICER (3 positions)
Reporting to the Maternal and Child Health Manager, Maternal and Child Health Officer will be responsible for:
Jointly with Council Health Management Team(CHMT),perform quarterly supportive supervision in all districts and also do mentorship to work on gaps and challenges found after supervision
Ensuring program implementation as per set goals based on project workplan
Work closely with District Reproductive and Child Health Coordinator and Maternal and Chile Health Manager in building capacity of health care workers
Work with District Data Officers in developing district targets and follow up of the targets to ensure 100% achievement
Develop Quality Improvement initiatives at PMTCT standalone clinics and at RCH
Fully participate in monthly and quarterly data collection, data entry , data compilation, and timely reporting to all required levels
Ensure availability at district and facility level of all Monitoring &Evaluation tools related to maternal and child health
Ensure a strengthened DBS results receiving system and timely distribution to sites
Link with Community Unit in tracking of lost to follow up mothers, pregnant women and children and ensure maximum retention into care of these clients and therefore strengthen Kagera Model
Collaborate closely with Laboratory and Supply Chain Officer in strengthening supply chain management system in all facilities providing PMTCT and Early Infant Diagnosis services
Follow up and form strategies on Accelerated Child Treatment targets
Work closely with CHMT in improving quality of care through regular provision of feedback and communication
Perform any other duty as assigned by senior officials
Requirements: Education and experience:
Degree or Advanced Diploma in Nursing
Master's degree in Public Health is an added advantage.
At least three year experience in similar or related position
Experience in performing Maternal and Child Health strategies and initiatives
Quality Improvement initiatives
Ability to travel to rural areas for most of the time and to work under pressure
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
