- SALES AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER OGC UPSTREAM SERVICES, East Africa
- Establish, maintain and develop relationships with key client decision makers to raise profile of SGS as a provider of upstream field services
- Maintain effective communications with service line and BD managers to ensure that business growth strategy is developed effectively in the Region
- Maintain awareness of market opportunities for SGS services to be introduced
- Pre-qualify SGS upstream services with clients in East Africa region
- Identify operational, importation and investment requirements for successful business development
- Working with sales and tendering team secure contracts in target markets
- Oversee introduction of upstream services region in conjunction with Service Line operations management
- Engage with and communicate OGC Business and Regional Leadership throughout all stages of planning and implementation to secure necessary support, funding and resources required to deliver objectives

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with service line managers and BD team to agree and support marketing strategy of the service delivery organization
- Build on established network of contacts in country, SGS global track record and capability to secure new upstream business and build capacity for future growth
- Conduct and review market analysis to determine customer needs, competitor offerings, pricing and trends
- Agree sales goals for the region, coordinate specific sales plans for promotion of existing services and the introduction of new services, and makes corresponding follow-up effective.
- Coordinates plan and conducts client seminars, in-house seminars as well as advanced group studies, and participates in presentations.
- Makes regular client visits and follow-up with Business Development team, Operations Management and Service Delivery Engineers in order to
- Maintain awareness of client operations plans and issues with service provision
- Routinely review the service quality
- Update on Client specific sales profiles
- Monitor the price structure and pricing levels, recommending all necessary changes and appropriately present pricing proposals to clients
- Assist in engineers training in appropriate areas
- Attends to his/her personal development in such a way that he/she keeps well informed of all matters concerning sales techniques and service delivery matters
- Participate in the annual budget planning process
- At all times, adopt a safe behavior by exercising due regard for the health and safety of SGS employees and clients, in line with SGS policies and procedures
- At all times, comply with SGS Code of Integrity and Professional Conduct
Desired Skills and Experience
- Typically 3 – 7 years upstream experience including field experience in relevant E&P service environment preferrably within East Africa Region or similar,
- Technically qualified to degree level or experienced with technical diploma or equivalent in appropriate scientific, engineering or technical discipline
- Preferably those with senior/supervisory field personnel who want to develop into sales career
- Demonstrated track record of service delivery and leadership
- Effective communicator in written and verbal English.
- Ability to interact effectively with key decision makers within Client Organisation is essential
- Must have experience of working in East Africa AND/OR Sub Saharan African region
