Bulyanhulu mine is looking to employ an experienced Mining Superintendent / Section Leader to provide leadership, direction and technical expertise to the mining operations personnel to ensure optimum safe production at minimum cost within the statutory and corporate framework.
KEY RESULT AREAS/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Lead and direct mining operations personnel to adhere to safety standards, mining strategies, operational plans and budgets.
• Provide leadership, training and support to ensure that employees and contractors comply with safety standards that exceed industry practice and any applicable legislative requirements.
• To develop and implement systems to ensure mining personnel utilize and maintain mobile equipment to produce ore to maximize profit for the organization.
• Maintain and monitor systems to enable the swift correction of unfavorable cost and physical variances.
• Implement employee performance management processes to ensure optimum employee performance and take appropriate action to remedy any substandard employee performance or behavior.
• Create a working environment, which ensures that employees gain new skills and achieve their full potential by developing and implementing effective training and mentoring programs.
• Continually review every aspect of mining activities to ensure that opportunities to add value and enhance shareholder wealth are identified and implemented.
PROFESSIONAL AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES
Education Requirements:
• Tertiary Qualification in Mining Engineering
Experience Requirements:
• At least 10 years underground experience in the Mining Industry.
• Both technical and operational experience in longhole mining methods is essential.
• Experience in underhand longhole mining is advantageous.
• Some exposure to cemented backfill and narrow vein operations.
• Experience in managing small capital projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
