UNICEF, the world’s leading organization working for the rights of children, seeks a Temporary Appointment for a Communication Specialist, SOWC (State of the World’s Children Digital Report), P-4, New York, USA, NYHQ

Qualification and Competencies:
Qualification:
• Advanced degree in Journalism, Communication, International Relations or related field;
• 8 years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in international development communication and advocacy;
• Strong ability to write and edit public advocacy and outreach materials;
• Experience creating and managing online, interactive and multimedia content;
• Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely;
• Demonstrated success in the development and delivery of communication strategies in a complex multicultural environment;
• Good understanding of United Nations system, including UNICEF, and of world affairs and children’s rights issues;
• Able to handle multiple tasks with competing deadlines;
• Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and capacity to work long hours when required.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of another UN language a plus;
