Context/Scope: 

Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL) operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of close to 30%.  SBL is a subsidiary of East Africa Breweries Ltd (EABL) – which is partly owned by one of the world’s biggest alcoholic beverage companies, DIAGEO. The company is an integrated demand/supply business with 3 operational breweries in Dar Es Salaam, Mwanza, and Moshi. The company boasts famous locally brewed brands, such as Serengeti Premium Lager, Tusker Lager, Tusker Light, Kibo Gold, Pilsner Lager, Senator just to name a few. The spirits folder is filled with world-class brands from abroad – including Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Baileys, J&B and Gordon’s.

Leadership Responsibilities:

Successfully coach, motivate and train sales force

Purpose of Role:

To participate in hiring process and then train, coach and assess the sales force members including Distributors sales representatives to achieve world class sales force capabilities.

Top Accountabilities

• Participate in selection and hiring process of Area Distributors Van Sales Man (VSM), and Area Sales Executives (ASE) for SBL. Ensure best candidates are selected.
• Deliver all the Diageo Way of Selling (DWS) classroom trainings for the VSM’s and ASE’s.
• Continuously make one-on-one coaching with VSM and ASE’s and prepare Performance Improvement Plans (PIP) together with the Coached.
• Follow-up PIP’s and give feedback to line manager on Sales Capabilities improvement of each individual VSM and ASE.
• Actively give input on Performance Evaluation of VSM and ASE’s.
• Follow-up volume and distribution KPI’s and self-initiate improvement programs for problem areas.
• Participate in development of classroom and in-the-field training programs for specific improvement areas.

  
Qualifications and Experience Required: 

• University degree – preferably Business Administration
• 3+ Years FMCG Sales background with Sales Supervisor or Manager role preferably in Beverages sector
• Very high verbal and written communication skills, capable to influence peoples behaviors through educating
• Presentation and MsOffice computer skills
