The head of Mobile financial Services (MFS) will be responsible for MFS performance of commercial activities for Sales & Distribution, Product Management and Customer Operations in Tanzania. He/She will be responsible for defining and implementing MFS strategic and financial goals, drive usage penetration, improve operational performance and meet consumer satisfaction goals. The responsibilities are divided in four areas: strategic, leadership, operational and financial results.
LEADERSHIP
• Lead all teams by providing clarity of vision; prioritizing resources; facilitating alignment of the team; setting high expectation targets; inspiring commitment; encouraging mutual support; and enabling development opportunities.
• Guarantee that all positions have clear role and responsibilities, according to the company and MFS’ local strategy and needs.
• Ensure acquisition of competitive talent across all MFS commercial areas, both at regional and local levels, by directing human resource assets to develop multi-year talent strategy and succession processes for each area; addressing current and future business needs
• Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain a highly skilled and engaged workforce by diagnosing capability gaps; recruiting, selecting, and developing talent; supporting mentorship, workforce development, and succession planning; leveraging the capabilities of new and existing talent.
OPERATIONAL
• Provide overall direction for MFS by analyzing changes in the competitive landscape; developing, communicating, building support for, and implementing all commercial business strategies, plans, and practices; analyzing trends, costs, and forecasts and incorporating them into business plans; determining and supporting resource requirements; evaluating operational processes in the MFS business area; measuring outcomes to ensure delivery results; identifying and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; promoting a customer-focused culture in all the organization.
• Ensure an appropriate cost management strategy to avoid surprises and unexpected variations, and also pursuing opportunities for improvements and growth of profitability
• Analyze and mitigate risks by proactively monitoring internal and external threats to MFS business; developing an action plan and channeling through the global team the execution of the plan.
FINANCIAL
• Manage overall financial performance of each product and commercial expenses by analyzing and controlling financial reports; creating and administering commercial budgets together with the corporate office; determining trends and areas of opportunity; advising on cost control methods; and resolving budgetary issues.
• Direct responsible individuals to control and supervise the annual consumer growth, revenue per category, costs and profits budgets and forecasts, including re-adjustments when required to attain proposed goals aligned with general MFS & company strategies.

Desired Skills and Experience
• 8-10 years’ experience in senior management role for a multinational company in telecommunications, mobile financial services or consumer banking operating in the Africa region and specifically in Tanzania.
• University degree in Finance, Administration, Engineering or Marketing. Master’s degree is mandatory.
• English proficiency is mandatory with fluency in French.
• Experienced leadership in designing, implementing and following through with Sales and Distribution strategies across various markets
• Product development, rollout, and product performance management experiences is required
• Demonstrated ability to inspire consistent, high-quality customer service delivery through diverse individuals who work collaboratively in high performance teams.
• Strong understanding of economic norms, trends and implications, both for mobile and financial services.
• Good knowledge in finance and very strong analytical skills.
• Good knowledge of risk and regulatory of the MFS and mobile payment industry is preferred
• Ability to engage in effective and persuasive negotiations and strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with a wide range of cultures in a diverse community.
• Mature ability to work collaboratively with management teams throughout the organization and to be seen as a valuable expert resource to be sought out.
