African Barrick Gold (ABG) seeks to appoint a dedicated, self motivated and highly organized Senior Mine Engineer - Short Term Planning for its North Mara mine.
Reporting Line: Chief Mine Engineer
Location: North Mara Mine Site
Work Schedule: 6 weeks on, 3 weeks off
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-
• Demonstrate safety leadership and ensure
• Overall Management of the Short Term Planning process
• Lead the development and execution of operational plans
• Develop strong relationship with the operations team
• Building, Implementation and control of Mine Planning Systems for production control
• Designing and implementation of pit, ramp and dump designs
• Contractor management
• EOM and weekly reports
• Implementation of continuous improvement measures
• Training of Mining Engineers
• Ensuring that Mine plans adhere to safety standards
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:-
Education Requirements:
• University Degree in Mining Engineering
Experience & Skills Requirements:
• Over 5years experience in the mining industry
• Strong background in Drill & Blast and Production Control
• Effective Communication Skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effect changes
• A valid driving license
• Good working knowledge of XPAC, Talpac, Surpac, Jigsaw, Spreadsheet and other database soft wares
