We are looking for: Programme Officer for Environment and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources
Duty Station: Mwanza, Tanzania
Job Description:
The purpose of the position is to coordinate all activities related with Sustainable Use of Natural Resources (SUNR). Specifically the Environment and Sustainable Use of Natural Resources (SUNR) Programme officer will:
1. Participate in the production and testing of the “Training of Task Force Sustainable use of Natural Resources”
2. Participate in the production and testing of the “Urban Community Tool”
3. Take lead in programme development of sustainable use of natural resources in Tanzania and Kenya together with the thematic programme officers in Tanzania and Kenya and head office advisors
4. Inspire the development of sustainable use of natural resources and exchange of experiences and present results between the different country offices
5. Network and support partners to project support organisations in capacity building of SUNR in the region
6. Take lead in the preparation of the test Workshop of the “Training of Task Force of Sustainable use of Natural Resources”, “Urban Community Tool” and the “Accountability Tool”
7. Participate in writing the “Accountability Tool”
8. Participate in preparing reports
9. Other related work as directed by the Country Manager
Qualification
1. Participatory facilitation skills
2. Relevant field experience (Sustainable Use of Natural Resources)
3. In-depth knowledge of Sustainable Use of Natural Resources
4. Experience of writing manuals
5. Experience of Working with Right Based Approach, accountability and gender
6. Having an understanding of gender as a social construction
7. Proficiency in English
8. Experience of working in a multicultural team
9. A minimum of one degree/ A Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
