The Confederation of Tanzania Industries is an independent, self-financed, legally constituted organization that serves its members by speaking out on their behalf and generally representing their interests. The main aim of the Confederation is to ensure that there is conducive business climate within which industry can operate effectively, prosper and contribute to national wealth and development.
The Confederation seeks to fill the following position.
As part of the Business Sector Programme Support - Phase IV (BSPS IV), the Governments of Tanzania and Denmark have agreed to initiate an energy efficiency (EE) programme to reduce the use of energy in the manufacturing sector. The Confederation of Tanzania Industries is the hosting partner for this initiative and will be responsible for its implementation.
The Energy Efficient Programme Coordinator will be responsible to the Director of Policy and Advocacy.
The Energy Efficiency Programme Coordinator will coordinate and drive this initiative forward. He will conduct awareness campaigns among members of the Confederation to demonstrate the advantages of energy efficient production. He will identify relevant consulting companies to conduct energy audits among members, negotiate contracts and create linkages between members and energy audit consultants. The Energy Efficiency Programme Coordinator will validate findings of Energy Audits and make follow up on possible imelementation among members.
The Programme Coordinator will compile annual reports, listing key figures such as overall saving potential, relevant technologies and realised investments.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Knowledge of Energy Efficient technologies, Ability to calculate energy usage and savings, Good analytical capability,
Good interpersonal skills,
Excellent report writing and presentation skills, .
Proficiency in written and spoken English,
Experience, knowledge and understanding of the private sector and
its dynamics will be added advantages,
Computer literacy.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Administer the Energy Audit Scheme,
ii. Conduct awareness campaigns among members of the prospects in
Energy Efficiency,
iii. Identify Energy Audit Consultants,
iv. Facilitate contact between members and Energy Audit Consultants,
v. Collect data from audits and prepare progress reports,
vi. Validate audit reports,
vii. Validate business plans,
viii. Prepare Annual Reports of the programme.
