Simon Group is a Holding Company of several registered companies in Tanzania with investments in different sectors. Currently, it is looking for qualified candidates to fill in the positions of Insurance Officer, Internal Auditor and Group Accountant
Report To:Top Management of the Group Job Purpose of Internal Auditor
To plan for internal control design and effectiveness along with ensuring compliance with applicable higher education rules and regulations, standard accounting practices and corporate accounting policies; act as project audit leader in a hands-on audit role; assist in providing recommendations that add value and / or create greater efficiencies with respect to operations and financial reporting; and ensure appropriate utilization of audit resources.
Duties/Responsibilities of Internal Auditor
Perform internal financial auditing for all group subsidiaries.
Implement Internal Financial policies.
Assess risks and internal controls by identifying areas of non-compliance; evaluating manual financial processes; identifying process weaknesses and inefficiencies and operational issues.
Communicates audit progress and findings by providing information in status meetings; highlighting unresolved issues; reviewing working papers; preparing final audit reports.
Improves protection by recommending changes in management monitoring, assessment, and motivational practices, in the internal control structure, and in operating processes; identifying root causes.
Qualification and Experience
CPA and Bachelor Degree in accounting / Finance / Business Administration is required; Master's Degree in Accounting / Finance
Business Administration is preferred.
At least 5 Years of work experience in the same position or related position in a reputable company is mandatory.
Ability to work under pressure
Open minded person
Proficiency in both Swahili and English is required
