Simon Group is a Holding Company of several registered companies in Tanzania with investments in different sectors. Currently, it is looking for qualified candidates to fill in the positions of Insurance Officer, Internal Auditor and Group Accountant
Report To:Top Management of Group Job Purpose
To provide financial information to top management by researching and analyzing accounting data, preparing reports
Duties/Responsibilities of Group Accountant
Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
Document financial transactions by entering account information,
Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarize current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports.
Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Guide junior accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Reconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
Maintain financial security by following internal controls.
Prepare payments by verifying documentation, and requesting disbursements.
Comply with central and local government financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Perform other administrative work as directed by top management.
Qualifications and Experience
CPA and Bachelor Degree in accounting/Finance/Business Administration is required; Master's Degree. in Accounting! Finance/Business Administration is preferred.
At least 5 Years of work experience in the same position or related position in a reputable company is mandatory.
Ability to work under pressure
Open minded person
Proficiency in both Swahili and English is required
