EDC expects to have an increasing presence in Tanzania and is looking for exceptionally qualified and committed individuals with the below qualifications for an anticipated child labor elimination program in Tanzania.
Educational Specialist
The Education Specialist will be responsible for providing guidance and leadership in developing the technical aspects of education interventions for children withdrawn or at risk of participating in exploitative and hazardous child labor in agriculture and domestic service sectors.
Qualifications:
Minimum of three years of experience in a leadership position responsible for developing education interventions and the technical aspects related to the proposed strategy, including student assessment, teacher training, educational materials/curriculum development, educational management, and educational monitoring and information systems.
Bachelor’s level degree or higher in education or other social science
Experience in basic and secondary education projects
Understanding of child labor issues, including special educational needs of children removed from child labor when they enter/return to school.
Experience working with vulnerable children and their households in Tanzania.
Experience working successfully with Ministry of Education and other government agencies, networks of educators, employers’ organizations, and trade unions or comparable entities.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English required proficiency in Kiswahili.
