ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT CASHIER (1) POSITION
Catholic Relief Services is a global non-governmental Christian humanitarian and development organization with a special focus serving the needs of disadvantaged populations to ensure that the dignity of the human person is maintained regardless of race, religion, gender or color. Catholic Relief Service South Sudan Program wishes to recruit highly competent, proactive and self-driven person (South Sudanese National only) to fill the position of Accounting Assistant Cashier to be based in Juba, South Sudan.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
To provide efficient and effective support in the area of receipts and payments functions of the finance department.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain a running balance ledger for all bank accounts operated by the country program to prevent overdrawn accounts.
- Ensure Cash disbursement journal entries and supporting documentations are cancelled to prevent reuse.
- Make daily deposit of all cash received unless the amount is less than 200 SSP.
- Prepare official receipts for all cash received.
- Prepare cash disbursement vouchers for all payments.
- Submit all cash disbursement vouchers daily to the Data Entry Assistant.
- Maintain blank checks in safe.
- Maintain record of numerical sequence of unused checks in the Finance Drive U.
- Attach bank advices/bank receipts to all wire transfers
- Communicate immediately to Finance Manager of any missing unused check book(s)
- Assist finance department with any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications/Experience
· Diploma or Certificate in Finance, Administration or Management or a closely related field from an accredited college or university
· Two years of progressive experience in managing cash.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with staff, Partners, public donors & representatives.
- Knowledge & experience in the use of sun system accounting software.

- Good communication skills including the ability to make clear and concise presentations.
- Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office)
