The Emerging Platforms Unit is part of Nokia's CTO organization and is chartered with imagining, creating and delivering disruptive product categories to enable the company to lead the next wave of mobile computing. The R&D Manager will work closely with the VP, Energing Platforms as a technical assistant and will therefore have the opportunity to influence and facilitate the technology strategy of EPL. We are looking for someone of architect caliber who wants to have a hands on influential role across the organization.

• Works across EPL sites to support cohesion of technology strategy and execution
• Participates in and facilitates EPL/cross BU collaboration
• Responsible for developing EPL keynotes and other technical presentations for use within Nokia as well as outside forums
• Responsible for preparing materials for strategic reviews and ensuring the VP, Emerging Platforms is adequately prepared and briefed for a broad range of internal and external meetings.
• Responsible for facilitating and coordinating technical discussions within EPL and the greater CTO organizations
• Responsible for cross-functional communications across different organizations within Nokia.
• Responsible for facilitating staff meetings.
• Works collaboratively with EPL Operations to ensure proper planning, reporting and execution of the EPL program.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in technical development and planning roles
• Track record of delivering high quality workplans and Nokia RBPs
• Solid knowledge of web and mobile technologies
• Extensive project management experience
• Extensive software engineering experience
• Respected technologist
• Thorough understanding of Nokia business and culture
• Thorough understanding of Nokia project management practices and tools
• Solid leadership skills
• Team player and people influencer
• Ability to work across sites, cultures and time zones
• Detail oriented
