We are seeking a qualified bilingual (strong in French Language) individual for the position of Adolescent and Youth Advisor for Central and Western African sub Region consisting of 22 countries in sub Saharan Africa
The Adolescents and Youth Advisor provides leadership in the development and implementation of comprehensive and integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights programmes for adoelscents and youth, with a focus on service delivery; advocacy/policy and empowerment/participation.
The key responsibilities of the position are:
• To provide advisory and technical support to the Member Associations in the area of adolescent and youth programming
• To strengthen the capacity of Member Assocations to develop innovative gender sensitive and rights based programmes for young people
• To ensure effective design, implementation, monitoring and reporting of all programmes in line with IPPF/other donor requirements.
• To provide leadership in youth empowerment and youth participation initiatives within the Region
• To develop, prepare, implement, monitor and report on the Adolescents and Youth Programmes and Budget
• To ensure the documentation of innovation and best practices in adolescent and youth programming
• To assist in creating and maintaining a global positive public image for IPPF in the field of adolescents and young people
We are looking for a person who:-
With at least 5 years work experience doing similar or related work in an international NGO or similar organisation; you must have a Post-graduate degree in social sciences or in public health or equivalent standard of education/experience. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership and proven track record in team building skills. You must have proven analytical, presentation and written communication skills. Fluency in French and working knowledge of English is desirable; knowledge of Portuguese would be an added advantage.
There will be frequent travel within the sub region.
Competitive remunerative will be negotiated with the successful candidate.
