We are currently seeking senior-level professionals for a large, multiyear agricultural development project in Kenya that will focus specifically on staple crops. Desired areas of specialization include agronomy, producer organization strengthening, agricultural marketing and trade, business development and financial services for the agriculture sector, storage and warehouse receipt systems, behavior change communication, gender, monitoring and evaluation, and communication. Experience working with smallholder farmers to increase their technical and management skills and create sustainable market linkages is preferred.
Qualifications: • Minimum 5–10 years of experience in one or more technical disciplines relevant to the above • University degree in agronomy, agricultural economics, business management or other relevant field (advanced degree is preferred) • Experience working with international and/or regional NGOs, donor agencies, Ministry of Agriculture and/or private sector actors (buyers, agribusinesses, and financial institutions) along staple value chains is preferred. • Excellent written and spoken English is required. • Fluency in local dialects (e.g., Kiswahili) is preferred. • Experience working in Kenya and/or East Africa is required.
