We are seeking an experienced resource mobilisation professional to lead growth in UNICEF’s resource mobilisation in the Gulf Area (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait), engaging partners from both the public and private sectors in UNICEF’s global programs for children. This is a newly redefined role, which will head up a largely new (resource mobilisation and communication) team. Major duties and responsibilities Maintains and updates UNICEF’s integrated resource mobilisation strategy for the Gulf – along with annual budgeted and results-driven work plans - ensuring a close fit with the changing external and internal environment. Collaborating with UNICEF Senior Management, leads and coordinates high level engagement with key donors and allies from the public and private sectors, to promote, advocate, mobilize and influence cooperation with UNICEF to ensure the attainment of UNICEF’s goals and objectives. Oversees the contribution cycle to maximize effective use of donor funds and donor satisfaction, from proposal, fund implementation to reporting. Oversees strategic communications to support the resource mobilisation strategy. Identifies, recruits, develops and manages the required human resources to deliver the strategic goals. Oversees the operation of the Dubai office to ensure efficiency, effectiveness and compliance with UNICEF’s rules and regulations. Experience and skills required The most compelling candidates will have the following qualifications, experience and skills: Advanced university degree in social and economic sciences, international relations or a related field. A first level university degree with a relevant combination of academic qualifications and experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Minimum ten years of progressively responsible and relevant professional work experience in resource mobilisation, programme partnerships or a related field at national and international levels, including experience in the international development / humanitarian arena. Fluency in English and Arabic. Knowledge of the Gulf region is a significant asset. Salary This is a P5 post on the UN Salary scales.
