Major Responsibilities:
* The successful applicant will initiate, conduct and oversee complex epidemiology, surveillance, prevention, care and program evaluation activities of projects supported by the Zoonotics Disease Cooperative Agreement.
* The incumbent provides medical and epidemiological advice and consultation, interacts with 4 many of the different projects underway and communicates and liaises with CDC and UVRI technical staff directing these projects. Priority diseases this, position will focus on include; Plague, Yellow Fever, Viral Hemor-rhagic Fevers (Marburg, Ebola), Hepatitis E, and Arboviruses.
* The fellow will be responsible for the principal management and over sight of epidemiology and surveillance activities, analyzing program data through statistical methods and disseminating study results through scientific journals, periodic reports and public presentations.
* The fellow will participate in zoonotic disease outbreaks nationally and internationally and write reports on research results and findings for presentation at national and international conferences and meetings. Additionally he/she will participate in national and regional conferences, meetings, and workshops including participating in National Taskforce meetings

Minimum qualifications
1. A Masters (MS, MPH, MSHP) degree -with experience in public health, (monitoring and evaluation, epidemiology, surveillance, program policy/management, international health, health education), nursing, or medicine, heath, social or behavioral sciences, or statistics.
2. Also required is at least two years of medical or scientific public health practice, research or teaching in the area of epidemiology.
