The U.S. Mission in Addis Ababa is seeking an individual for the position of Program Management Assistant in the Small Projects Office of the Embassy's Political/Economic Section.
BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Under the direct supervision of Small Projects Program Coordinator, incumbent performs grants program management, as well as administrative and financial functions, for the Ambassador’s Special Self-Help (SSH) Program, Democracy and Human Rights Fund (DHRF), PEPFAR/Ethiopia Small Grants Program, and other small grants programs, whose grant-making activities are essential to advancing U.S. foreign policy objectives in Ethiopia at the community level. Incumbent also functions as Office Manager in the absence of the Small Projects Program Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

1. Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Development, International Affairs, or related field is required.
2. Required Experience: A minimum of two years program management experience with specific experience in grants management is required.
3. Language Requirement: Level 4 (Fluent) Speaking/Reading Amharic and English is required.
(English language proficiency will be tested)
4. Other Skills: Incumbent must have good knowledge of principles and practices of program management and administration, proposal review and evaluation, project design and monitoring, and basic accounting, as well as solid understanding of analysis and reporting of financial data; good working knowledge of local and international organizations involved in charitable and developmental work in Ethiopia is also required. Incumbent must also have competency in using MS Office Suite.
5. Interpersonal Skill Requirements: Incumbent must have a wide range of skills in developing and maintaining a network of working-level outside contacts, and must demonstrate cooperative working relationships with subordinates and other Mission staff.
SELECTION PROCESS

2. Current employees serving a probationary period are not eligible to apply.
3. Currently employed US Citizen EFMs who hold a FMA appointment are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment.
4. Currently employed NORs hired under a Personal Services Agreement (PSA) are ineligible to apply for advertised positions within the first 90 calendar days of their employment, unless currently hired into a position with a When Actually Employed (WAE) work schedule.
