Acacia Mining seeks to employ Tanzanian Alimak Raise Miner based at Bulyanhulu Mine in Tanzania. This role reports to the Alimak First Line Leader and the role holder will be accountable to achieve mining production targets safely and efficiently whilst complying with relevant Company policies, procedures, standards and legislation.
This is a permanent role, with the work roster being seven (7) days day shift, seven (7) days night shift and seven (7) days off.
• Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies of Acacia, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines. • Install and use (Alimak) Mechanized Raise Climbers. • Achieve and sustain production targets. • Take full responsibility for proper care, conditions, and usage of all mining equipment and ensure that appropriate work methods are being applied. • Ensure compliance with maintenance PM schedules and daily services. • Conduct shift handover’s, both written and verbal and any other required daily reports. • Assist with training and coaching of less experienced team members. • Provide technical, practical and field support in various working areas of the mine, focusing on increasing work effectiveness and productivity while lowering cost through improved operational practices. • Identify and rectify hazards by means of conducting risk assessments for the protection of employees and mining property.
• High School / Secondary School Certificate • Mining related certification will be an added advantage
• At least 10 years underground mining experience in Alimak Raise mining. • Experience in raise development as per the design of between 50 meters to 200 meters under survey and geological control.
