OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
The mission of WHO's Health Emergencies Programme (The Programme) is to build the capacity of Member States to manage health emergency risks and, when national capacities are overwhelmed, to lead and coordinate the international health response to contain outbreaks and to provide effective relief and recovery to affected populations.

Education:
Essential:
An Advanced University degree (Master's level or above) in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health & Nutrition, International Health & Nutrition, Nutritional Epidemiology, Nutrition policy or development studies, Health & Nutrition Education, Nutrition Promotion and Disease Prevention, or other closely related field of study to nutritional issues.
In the event that your candidature is retained for an interview, you will be required to provide, in advance, a scanned copy of the degree(s)/diploma(s)/certificate(s) required for this position. WHO only considers higher educational qualifications obtained from an institution accredited/recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED), a list updated by the International Association of Universities (IAU) / United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Post graduate studies or specialized training in emergency management, international aid or humanitarian principles.

At least seven years of relevant experience, at the national and international levels, in development and management of nutrition programmes. Related working experience in outbreaks and/or health emergency operations in the area of nutrition. Experience in developing and promoting collaborative actions with national authorities.
