Acacia Mining seeks to employ a Process Operator – Flotation based at Buzwagi Mine. This role reports to the Process Plant First Line Leader and the role holder will be accountable to deliver quality flotation/ copper concentrate recovery process operations in order to meet production targets in a safe and timely manner as per shift assignment according to Acacia Buzwagi Health and Safety standards.
This is a one (1) year fixed term contract role, with the work roster being seven (7) days day shift, seven (7) days night shift and seven (7) days off.
CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines.
• Completion of pre-shift / start inspections (including the completion of pre start check lists) and on-the-job task observations (PTO) / assessments.
• Completion of FLRA booklet/ JHA for hazards identification and risk control.
• Ensure timely and accurate shift handover process, including the completion of required documentation.
• Fault finding and logging of identified faults in the log book.
• Prevention of further equipment damage/ faults and ffollow up of outstanding maintenance/ repairs.
• Maintain equipment availability and plant utilization.
• Start-up and shutdown of flotation plant operation in sequence and isolate flotation plant and equipment.
• Completing shift flotation log sheet and other required documentation.
• Controlling rougher and cleaner level and air supply.
• Mixing required flotation reagents (PAX, Frother and Aerophine) in line with standards and procedures.
• Adherence to filtration machine safe operating procedure.
• Completion of pre-shift/ start-up Larox machine and all filtration areas inspection.
• Start-up and shutdown of copper filtration process operation in sequence and isolate filtration process plant and equipment accordingly.
• Monitoring the availability of plant/ instrument air for operation.
• Conducting concentrate thickener operation.
• Monitoring Larox feed density.
• Monitoring cake moisture and filtration machine performance.
• Monitoring equipment conditions and parameters according requirements.
• Accurate and timely required flotation readings sample collection.
• Controlling the following parameters i.e. density, pH, reagents addition rate, air flow rate and cleaner and rougher level.
• Maintain sample integrity by adhering to sampling and submission procedures.
• Accurate and timely collection and submission of required flotation samples including the labeling of sample buckets / containers and plastic bags.
• Cleaning/ washing sampling tools or equipment to minimize contamination.
• Performing regrind mills operation.
• Performing regrind cyclones operation.
• Pumps and valves operation.
• Performing blower operation.
