INTERPOL’s Internship Programme welcomes candidates from any of our 190 member countries.
The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with:
  • A better understanding of the Organization’s goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized
  • An insight into how an international organization operates
  • A framework to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, thereby developing skills which are useful for their career and future employment
  • Experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-ethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance

The Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files (CCF) is an independent body in charge of:
  • Monitoring the application of the Organization's data protection rules to personal data processed by INTERPOL
  • Advising the Organization with regard to any operations or projects concerning the processing of personal information
  • Processing requests for access to INTERPOL's files
The main functions of this unit are the following:
  • The Commission's Secretariat, in its role as a facilitator, is a permanent body, ensuring continuity in the work of the Commission whose members change on a regular basis
  • It is responsible for organizing and managing the Commission's activities, as well as facilitating its work
  • It provides a link between the Commission and the various General Secretariat departments, for dealing with administrative, technical, practical and/or legal matters
Under the direct supervision of the Secretary of the Commission or his/her representative, the selected intern will:
  • Prepare files linked with the requests studied by the Commission
  • Carry out documentary research of a legal nature in a variety of areas for the information of the Secretary of the Commission, his/her representative or members of the Commission
  • Prepare legal documents and opinions
  • Prepare studies, correspondences, minutes of meetings, analysis reports, draft rules and other documents intended for the Commission, the Organization’s bodies (General Secretariat, General Assembly and Executive Committee) or other entities outside the Organization, following specific instructions laid down by the Secretary of the Commission or his/her representative
  • Take part in meetings organized by the Commission or by INTERPOL, if required.
  • Perform any other duties in accordance with instructions given by the Secretary of the Commission or his/her representative


All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
  • Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 190 member countries
  • Have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality


  • Have graduated from a post-secondary accredited academic institution within the past six months on the date of submission of their application in a relevant field of study (Data protection, Human rights)


  • Professional fluency in English and French

Specific skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, especially Microsoft Word
In addition to the requirements, the following would be beneficial.
  • Master degree in a relevant field of study

If selected, you will be required to produce a certificate of non-criminal records (including spent and unspent sentences pronounced by justice) from your country of nationality and from any other country in which  you have resided for more than 12 months in the past five years. If you are considered at a further stage of the selection process (interview) we advise you to familiarize yourself with the procedure for requesting such documentation in the concerned countries so that, if accepted, your arrival to the Organization is not unnecessarily delayed.

INTERPOL has four official languages: English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Working languages in Lyon are English and French.
