INTERPOL’s Internship Programme welcomes candidates from any of our 190 member countries.
The Programme attracts talented students or recent graduates to the Organization and provides them with:
  • A better understanding of the Organization’s goals and objectives and how international police cooperation is organized
  • An insight into how an international organization operates
  • A framework to enhance their educational experience through practical work assignments, thereby developing skills which are useful for their career and future employment
  • Experience of working in a multicultural, multidisciplinary and multi-ethnic environment, contributing to the development of mutual understanding, trust and tolerance

The INTERPOL boutique is open to staff, family members, conference delegates and visitors to the General Secretariat. It offers a wide range of clothing and souvenirs personalized with the Organization’s logo. The Boutique is also responsible for coordinating gifts for staff to take on mission.
Throughout this internship, the selected candidate will:
  • gain sales and stock management experience and skills in an international environment
  • knowledge and hands-on experience of the Enterprise Resource Planning Software SAP and
  • be exposed to a multicultural and multidisciplinary working environment.
Under the supervision of the Head of the Boutique, the selected candidate will:
  • Contribute to the stock management of boutique and protocol items, updating the database and taking part in inventories
  • Assist with the daily activities of the boutique: customer service, sales, etc.
  • Take part in the inventory and maintenance of the donations and gifts received by the Organization
  • Carry out any other duty assigned by the supervisor.


All candidates will be assessed on the under mentioned requirements.
  • Be a national of one of INTERPOL’s 190 member countries
  • Have attained the legal age of majority in their country of nationality


  • Be enrolled in a, or have graduated from, a post-secondary accredited academic institution within the past six months on the date of submission of their application preferably in a field related to sales, marketing, logistics, business management. (Examples of degrees include Associate’s degrees, bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, BAC+2, etc.)


  • Professional fluency in French
  • Working knowledge of English

Specific skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Organizational skills
  • Discretion, diplomacy, tact and rigor
In addition to the requirements, the following would be beneficial.
  • A good command of any other INTERPOL official working language (Arabic or Spanish)
  • Knowledge of any other language

If selected, you will be required to produce a certificate of non-criminal records (including spent and unspent sentences pronounced by justice) from your country of nationality and from any other country in which  you have resided for more than 12 months in the past five years. If you are considered at a further stage of the selection process (interview) we advise you to familiarize yourself with the procedure for requesting such documentation in the concerned countries so that, if accepted, your arrival to the Organization is not unnecessarily delayed.

INTERPOL has four official languages: English, French, Spanish and Arabic. Working languages in Lyon are English and French.
