The Bank of Tanzania, an equal opportunity employer and Tanzania’s central bank, is looking for suitably qualified young Tanzanian citizens of high personal integrity to fill the following vacant positions at its new Mtwara Branch.
POSITION: PUBLIC RELATIONS AND PROTOCOL OFFICER III - 1 POST
Reports to: Head of Division.
Contract type: Contract for unspecified period of time.
Location: Mtwara Branch, Mtwara. 4
Job Purpose:
To plan, develop and implement public relations strategies in line the Bank’s corporate communication strategy.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
a) Providing inputs and support in the review and implementation of the corporate communication strategy;
b) Organising Bank’s engagement with the media;
c) Preparing responses to issues raised by the media/stakeholders and submitting to the Head of division;
d) Monitoring, reviewing, collecting and posting updated information to BOT websites and BOT pages in other websites;
e) Monitoring the public opinion of the Bank in the news media and recommending to Management appropriate action or reaction;
f) Preparing public education /awareness campaigns on Bank related issues;
g) Preparing inputs for the Bank’s internal monthly newsletter;
h) Preparing/translating Bank’s publications, leaflets, brochures, etc. when need arises;
i) Arranging for and processing travel, passports, visa, travel insurance, hotel accommodation, registration, travel allowances, transport to the executives and visitors to the Bank etc;
j) Providing escort and meeting Bank’s executives and official visitors to the Bank to and from travel ports;
k) Assisting in providing relevant information to official visitors of the Bank;
l) Assisting and participating in the organisation and preparation of various functions hosted by the Bank;
m) Providing logistical support during conferences, seminars, workshops, meetings and events organised by the Bank;
n) Performing other related duties as assigned.
Education/Professional Qualifications Required:
a) Bachelor degree in Economics or other Social Sciences or its equivalent from accredited academic institutions.
b) A Master’s degree in relevant field and training in public relations will be an added advantage.
c) Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills;
d) Drive, competence, flexibility and a willingness to learn;
e) Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask;
f) Creativity, imagination and initiative;
g) Good teamwork, analytical and problem-solving skills;
h) Business awareness and a good knowledge of current affairs.
i) Good IT skills
j) Presentation skills
k) High degree of creativity.
