Management and Development for Health (MDH), is a non-governmental organization with intent to contribute towards a robust health system, able to support delivery of quality health services through evidence based interventions and ultimately have a healthier and prosperous society. MDH works in partnership with various' organizations including local and international research institutions to support implementation of operational research activities to improve health care delivery service in Tanzania mainly provision of HIV care and treatment services, maternal and child health, nutritional interventions, prevention and control of Non Communicable Diseases (NCD). Through funding from Pathfinder International and CDC funding to strengthen the health information system in Tanzania, MDH seeks to recruit the following positions based in Dares Salaam
PROJECT MANAGER. (1)
Job Summary:
The Project Manager will play a critical role in the coordination and management of this new project of the information systems and will serve in a team as a project leader while guiding technical input from various resources to a team of developers. S/he will be a leading person in designing plans, workflows and' providing solutions to challenges experienced during implementation.
Duties and responsibilities:
Supervise the team to increase the number of HIV care and treatment health facilities using electronic system
Coordinate the process to develop the electronic patients level records
Manage roll out of the new electronic health information system
Represent MDH in relevant stakeholders meeting including liaison with MoHSW in matters related to the electronic patient level records
Supervise functioning of electronic systems in health facilities and ensure the team is able to timely implement agreed work plan .
Provide technical support as required to the MOHSW and other partners in implementing standards and guidelines based health systems.
Provide technical support as required to the documentation and implementation of interoperability protocols
Provide technical oversight to constant improvement to electronic health record systems.
Prepare project routine and ad hoc reports both to donors and organization
Provide performance measures summaries for facility and. supervisors
Required education and Training
Masters Degree in Information Systems (or a related field.)
Preference should be someone with a health informatics degree.
Proven extensive knowledge or information technology concepts and principles, theories and functions of computer systems.
Knowledge of electronic medical records and' system interoperability.
Training in project management and IT project management.
Work experience and skills
Two to three years relevant experience implementing health information systems at scale.
Demonstrate experience with multi-site deployment of technologies or information systems
Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, including developing and managing work plans.
2-3 years of experience in Java development and solid understanding of SOL based DBMS.
Command of an Open source EMRS systems
Ability to solve difficult technical and operational problems where solutions may be of a precedent-establishing nature
Ability to work well with diverse teams in person and remotely
