Yara is the world’s leading mineral fertilizer company; the only one with a truly global presence and a permanent presence in Africa. Yara established a Tanzanian subsidiary in 2005 under Chapa Meli Tanzania Ltd, and became Yara Tanzania Ltd in 2009. Today, Yara Tanzania covers the fertilizer market in Tanzania and also the neighboring regions such as Burundi and Rwanda. In order to strengthen the commercial presence in Tanzania, we are now looking to recruit two Regional Sales Agronomists covering the regions of Kigoma and Kahama- Shinyanga.
Regional Sales Agronomist
The Regional Sales Agronomists main focus area will be to develop fertilizer awareness through agronomy support in order to increase Yara sales and especially the OPP (Own Produced Products) within the Region. The positions will be based in the respective Regions, and will report to the Managing Director
Responsibilities
Promote the Yara product portfolio and Crop Nutrition approach
Market intelligence delivery
Training farmers and distributors on Yara products
Manage trials, demonstrations and market day programs
Increase sales according to business plan targets
Follow up on commercial activities
Build and develop relations with commercial and industrial farmers within the Region
Plan and carry out direct marketing activities
Profile
Degree in Agronomy or similar; specialization in tropical crops appreciated
Minimum 2 years relevant working experience
Proven field experience or experience related to agriculture
Computer literate, at least be proficient in Windows and MS Office Suite
Enthusiastic approach and willingness to learn
Ability to work with minimum supervision
Valid driving license
Strong communication and listening skills. Fluency in English and Swahili. French language skills will be an asset
