Underground Outside Contract Drilling Supervisor -Goldstrike

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities include: Successful candidate will be the Barrick Goldstrike Mines representative for outside contractors with emphases on site safety and contract compliance. Position duties will include Planned General Inspection tours, daily site visits to inspect drills and personnel, ensuring that the next headings to be worked are ready with no safety related issues and all utilities are in place, ordering drilling supplies, reconciliation and approving payment of invoices. Drilling methods include RC, core, raise bore drilling, lining of raises with steel liners, shotcrete, or escape-way cans.

SELECTION CRITERIA

BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:

• Five (5) years of underground experience preferred
• General working knowledge of underground drilling preferred
• Alcohol, Tobacco, and Fire Arms Clearance required
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Ability to work under little supervision required
• Microsoft Office programs included Excel, Work and PowerPoint required
• Ability to work with a team environment and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
• Ability to field questions about drilling with the contractor and Barrick Goldstrike Mines staff on a regular basis required
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position required
