The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT), is seeking a dynamic, innovative, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Staffing Coordinator for Nationally-Recruited Staff. The position will be based at CIMMYT’s Main Campus (located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, Mexico) but will interact with all CIMMYT´s experimental stations and regional office (country and world-wide) on a regular basis.
Successful candidate will be responsible for the overall administration of the HR recruitment and selection function for NRS, including developing various projects that will help underpin CIMMYT’s priorities arising from its Corporate Strategy.

Specific responsibilities of this position will include:
- To coordinate all aspects of Recruitment and Selection of National Staff, as per process flowchart, including analyzing personnel requisitions in order to determine duration of contract, nature of contract, and job functions.
- To organize Terms of Reference meetings in order to clarify all aspects of job requirements, prior to job search.
- To supervise the publication of job announcements (internally and externally), and also coordination of all job announcements in job boards, universities, business chambers, staff associations and other forums.
- To conduct job searches according to staff requisitions received, including overseeing submission of applications, résumé screening, conduction of competence-based evaluations, pre-interviews with Human Resources and all aspect associated with Interviews with designated areas.
- To provide quality assurance in all aspects of documentation received from candidates and internal documentation received from all sections, and liaison with all sections in relation to recruitment and selection needs.
- To support the setup and maintenance of talent pools, and candidate databases to enable a smoother operation of recruitment and selection in all fronts.
- To support the setup and maintenance of “probationary end” surveys with areas in order to determine training needs for staff moving to permanent contracts, or replacement / succession.
- To support the publication of timely and adequate NRS-related information in the Corporate Intranet.
- To design policy and guidelines for enabling a much more visible HR department, and development of team members in areas of opportunity.
- To provide other ad hoc support as required by Section and by all key stakeholders.
- To perform other duties as directed by supervisor.
We are seeking candidates with the following qualification, skills and attitudes:
- BA/BS in HR, International Relations, Organizational Development or related field, with substantial relevant experience, preferably in a multinational environment. Masters Degree will be an advantage.
- Excellent computer skills including in MS Office software.
- Excellent level of communication in English and Spanis is required. Knowledge of other languages will be an advantage.
- Creativity to develop new models and approaches.
- High level of cultural awareness and customer services orientation, along with a sense of urgency to find suitable candidates for various types of contracts and positions are required. Exposure to other cultures will be an advantage.
- Assertiveness, proactive problem solving attitude, strong teamwork, and results orientation.
