The International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT for its Spanish acronym) is seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and service-orientated professional for the position of Bilingual Science Communicator. The position will be based at CIMMYT’s headquarters located 45 km northeast of Mexico City, but will interact with many of CIMMYT´s experimental stations on a regular basis. The successful candidate will work in the Seeds of Discovery (SeeD) project, one of the four components of the Sustainable Modernization of Traditional Agriculture program (MasAgro for its Spanish acronym). The MasAgro program is coordinated by CIMMYT with the support and financing of the Mexican Government. Its purpose is to sustainably increase yields of maize and wheat production systems in Mexico through the implementation of sustainable agricultural practices and the use of enhanced scientific tools for genetic improvement.
The primary objective of this position is to disseminate to the global agricultural R&D community research strategies, methods, results, tools, services, training opportunities, and impacts arising from the SeeD project.
