Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi invites applications for the position of Programme Director, Pathology Residency Training Programme based in Nairobi

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Chair, Department of Pathology and liaising with the Director, Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME), the Program Director will develop, implement and monitor the content and quality of the pathology residency program. In addition, s/he will provide clinical service in line with department practice plan. Key Responsibilities: Administering the Residency Training Program; Developing and implementing the curriculum plan; Evaluating program content, faculty teaching and student/resident performance; Evaluating student/resident training and supervision in affiliated institutions and off-services rotation; Developing, operating and ensuring the program meets the general and specific standards of accreditation; Selecting candidates for admission to the program; Evaluating and promote trainees in accordance with the existing policies; Facilitating career planning; Providing assistance and resources to the faculty involved in the teaching activities; Conducting annual internal review of the program; Conducting the annual PGME entrance test and interviews for the internship candidates.

Requirements

​Masters of Medicine in Pathology or its equivalent Should be registered or eligible for registration with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board. Should have a minimum of one year's experience in undergraduate or post graduate medical education. The ideal candidate should have good leadership, effective communication and team building skills.
