PSI seeks candidates for the position of Social and Behavior Change Communications Advisor. The candidate will provide technical support to all staff to sustain an innovative performance-based IPC (Inter-personal communication) structure. The Advisor will also develop high quality generic and branded communications across all health areas. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to understand the target audience and transform that knowledge into innovative, effective marketing that stimulates sustainable behavior change. He/she will have innovative ideas and must demonstrate a true passion for marketing.
The position is based in Mbabane with travel as necessary, reports to the Country Representative and supervises a team in the head office. * This position is contingent upon funding.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Supervise and provide leadership to the marketing and communications creative team and IPC department to deliver an integrated approach to business in PSI Swaziland;
•Work with research team to ensure relevant behavior determinants have been identified and addressed in designing and developing SBCC messages and activities;
•Oversee and make improvements to the existing IPC structure and improve systems for evaluating the impact and effectiveness of that network;
•Oversee the development and production of communication materials including print and electronic media, IPC materials, promotional items, and training manuals;
•Scale-up and improve IPC activities to increase targeting and participation by adopting models and tools to be used in all health areas
•Provide technical assistance to the Marketing Manager
•Support and provide team leadership for the marketing, communication and IPC departments through resource planning, work assignment, information exchange, and setting goals;
•Create the environment for staff training and coaching and develop realistic strategies for capacity building in the marketing and communications creative team;
•Perform any other related duties as may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS: •Relevant post-graduate degree (MBA, MIA, MPH, etc.) or equivalent experience in related field
•Minimum 4 years international experience, with a health or marketing organization, private sector marketing experience a plus
•Minimum 4 years experience developing S/BCC messages and interventions
•Minimum 4 years demonstrated staff management and project oversight
•Fluency in spoken and written English
•Excellent writing and presentation skills essential
•Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work effectively with a variety of audiences and organizations essential
