PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION
To support IKEA Foundation management and our Programme Partners by planning, creating and delivering effective and innovative communication programs and materials which promote the Foundation’s mission and image. The successful candidate will work closely with Foundation grantees and Foundation managers, to plan and create innovative, inspiring and effective communication activities that build awareness and support for our work.
This role will also take ownership of the Foundation’s communications activities for the IKEA Soft Toys campaign (a cause-marketing partnership with UNICEF and Save the Children) and the related CoWorker Site Visits, a global employee engagement program for IKEA co-workers to visit children’s education initiatives around the world that are funded by the annual Soft Toys campaign.
This position is full time and will be based at the Foundation’s headquarters in Leiden, The Netherlands. Limited travel will be required (a few days per quarter, on average).
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Coordinate the development of annual Partner Communication Plans.
•Monitor and review progress for each Partner Communication Plan.
•Maintain and update the Communications Calendar for all programme-related communications announcements, stories, etc.
•Plan and oversee production of collateral items about Programme Partners and programme accomplishments, in accordance with Partner Communications Plans and ad hoc needs.
•Manage requests for materials and images from Partners and other external parties.
•Prepare and maintain Programme Partner overviews, both on Foundation website and in print.
•Other duties as assigned.
PROFILE
• University degree or similar in relevant area (e.g. communications, non-profit management, international aid & development)
• 5 to 7+ years of work experience in a communication capacity at a global NGO, Foundation or development/aid agency (either in-house or agency)
• Excellent understanding of communication planning and metrics
• Experience developing annual communication plans
• Experience managing projects, and producing content and collateral items.
• Experience writing announcements and reports
• Basic proofreading and editing skills
