GENERAL INFORMATION

TechnoServe Uganda is implementing a four-year pilot project, titled Project Nurture that will demonstrate the ability of smallholder farmers to increase their fruit incomes at least two- fold by becoming long-term sustainable suppliers of mango and passion fruits both for sale in Fresh fruit market as well as processing value chains. The goal of this program is to improve smallholder farmer incomes through productivity improvements; development of farmer based organizations and facilitate market linkages sustainably. TechnoServe now seeks to hire highly competent individuals for the following position:



Monitoring & Evaluation Advisor (1 Position)



PURPOSE:

Provide coordination of the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) components of Project Nurture in Uganda. The M&E Advisor will report to the Senior Business Manager and work closely with the M&E Coordinator for Uganda S/he will be responsible for enabling evidence-based decision-making processes, maintenance of Nurture M&E systems, and effective monitoring of Nurture M&E activities.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

* Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the performance of the Nurture Project, in
* accordance with the logical framework and reporting requirements, o Manage an online data portal for the project’s data through data verification, cleaning, analysis and reporting.
* Undertake regular visits to the field to support implementation of M&E activities. Ensure timely completion of major M&E deliverables, regular periodic analysis of data to identify and communicate lessons-learned, and regular periodic presentation of data, reports and analyses to management, o Work with country and regional management to integrate M&E data into program
* planning and decision-making processes on, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually, o Work with the project implementing team to collect and analyze data on a regular basis.
* Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of sub-contractors such as enumerators, research assistants and others

Requirement:

REQUIREMENTS:

* Qualifications preferred in Bachelors degree of statistics, economics, agribusiness, agricultural economics, or other development related studies.
* At least 4 years of experience with M&E methods and approaches, including designing, planning, and implementing M&E systems, analyzing and reporting using a logical framework and other strategic planning approaches.
* Proficiency in Excel, SPSS, EPINFO and other MS office.
* Proven ability to work with various M&E methods and approaches
* Excellent information analysis and report writing.
* Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills a must
* Ability to generate innovative solutions in work situations,
* Proven ability and experience working with teams will be an added advantage
* Fluency in English, Lugisu, Ateso, Lugwere
* Experience working in the regions of Teso and Bugifu is required.
* Willingness to be based in Mbale, and ability tp travel to remote rural locations.
