Mocuba, Mozambique - The Program Manager, Zambézia Province is responsible to provide leadership and oversight to all project activities in Zambézia and daily functions of the field office in Mocuba.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Represent Samaritan’s Purse at district and provincial level meetings with relevant government, NGO, and private sector partners • Assist in identification of new program and funding opportunities, including networking and building relationships with relevant donors and partners • Assist in the research, design, and writing of new project proposals for Zambézia Province • Overall responsibility for implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of a multi-sector community development program in Zambézia Province. • Oversee program components including: Water and sanitation, household water filters, borehole rehabilitation, well construction, and hygiene and sanitation promotion • Agricultural development program administration, and/or agricultural business development. • Overall responsibility for all staff operating in Zambézia Province, including hiring, orientation, supervision, and disciplinary procedures for all program, security, and logistics personnel • Oversee finances and budgets for Zambézia Province, ensuring Samaritan’s Purse accounting standards are implemented • Prepare and compile monthly, quarterly, and other program reports for internal use, as well as for outside donors such as USAID
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university in in a relevant field such as international development • Strong leader that can bring energy to the field base, with a proven record of growth • 5 years of community development work experience, specific Mozambique experience preferred • Experience and knowledge of Agriculture or WASH sector beneficial • Previous experience managing multi-sector externally funded grants, especially with USAID • Experience monitoring and evaluating development programs, with practical experience in designing questionnaires, cluster sample surveys, and focus group discussions • Knowledge of SPSS and/or Epi Info an advantage • Fluent in English and Portuguese • Knowledge of a local language is an advantage
