Faculty of Engineering School of Civil and Environmental Engineering REF. 8170NET Salary Level B/C/D: Lecturer A$83,262K - A$98,156K per year; Senior Lecturer A$101,130 - A$116,024 per year; Associate Professor A$120,987- A$132,898 per year (plus 17% employer superannuation and leave loading) We are seeking to appoint an academic in the field of geotechnical engineering and/or computational geomechanics within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering. UNSW has a strong reputation for outstanding research and teaching in geotechnical engineering with the appointee joining a dynamic group with particular strengths in application of continuum mechanics, constitutive modelling and numerical methods to multi phase media and geotechnical engineering problems as well as extensive activity in pavement, rock and dam engineering. Candidates with evidence of exceptional research strength in these or related areas are encouraged to apply. Previous teaching experience, particularly in the area of pavement engineering, will be considered an asset as will practical experience in the practice of geotechnical engineering. The successful candidate will be expected to develop an internationally recognized research program and to participate in the teaching and service missions of the School and Faculty. Candidates at the level of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer are strongly encouraged, but candidates with an established reputation as a leader in their area of expertise will also be considered at the level of Associate Professor. This is a tenure track position with the possibility of conversion to a continuing position following review of performance after a probation period.
