ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER Position at Maendeleo Bank Plc

Maendeleo Bank Plc commenced operations in September 2013 as a Regional Bank with its Headquarters at Luther House, Sokoine Drive - Dar es Salaam. It is the first bank in Tanzania to be registered in Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) from its inception through Enterprise Growth Market (EGM) window. In its efforts to expand and strengthen its operations, the Bank wishes to recruit self motivated, result oriented and suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions:

Job Summary: Reporting to Branch Manager, the role holder will be responsible for the day-to-day administrative and accounting duties in the branch. Principally s/he manages operations and business development including profit and productivity accounts, ATM and Inter bank accounts, Also s/he is entrusted to ensuring of customer relations prevails within the branch.

Key Accountabilities: 

1. Custodian of Bank's operation procedures and processes ensuring that they are held by branch departments and are applied in day to day transactions: these includes: Operations Manual, Circulars, Policy and Procedures etc. 

2. Ensure that branch vouchers/cheques are scrutinized and signed in accordance with approved limits. 

3. Ensure Due diligence is carried out in line with AML law and that call back confirmations are done in according to procedure and particularly in respect of high value transactions, 

4. Ensure control in the use of sensitive items/documents including branch stamps, controlled stationeries, bank keys, etc. 

5. Accountable for reconciliation of general ledger accounts and prepare the monthly reconciliation reports. 

6. Ensure that all branch system reports are checked and signed off as required. 

7. Supervise staff, activities of the branch and training of staff on controls and processes compliance. 

8. Carry out pre-audit to ensure ongoing adherence with compliance procedures. Responsible for rectification of all Audit and BOT queries within the acceptable time. 

9. Ensure that back office posting Is done appropriately and timely. 

10. To ensure that the checking of daily posting of General Ledger entries are properly authorized, has got details and are posted to correct accounts. 

11. To enhance revenue by collecting fees and commissions promptly so that to achieve annual targets as indicated in the budget. 

12. To carry out any other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.  

Minimum Qualifications and Experience Required: 

Holder of Business related Degree with at least 4 years' experience in the field. Experiences in Bankers Ream as a Core Banking System will an added advantage.
