Serengeti Breweries Ltd (SBL) operates exclusively in Tanzania and is the 2nd largest beer company with a market share of just under 30%. It is an integrated demand/supply business with 3 operational breweries in Dar and Mwanza, and a third one in Moshi. Top 3-5 Accountabilities
• Manage and co-ordinate all packaging activities, products, materials, sundry items, components and services efficiently as well as manage packaging empties and fulls warehouses in such a manner as to avoid waste and pilferage.
• Deliver OEE’s of > 55% for the year; a waste rate of <1.5% and Zero LTA’s for the year.
• Deliver performance in applications and requirements of the Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety systems within packaging department and ensure safety of the environment in packaging department. Sponsor the safety sub committees.
• Develop and implement a safety plan that guarantees compliance to safety standards and reduction in lost days due to accidents.
• Plan and agree overhaul and maintenance programmes with the Packaging Engineers ensuring that quality and engineering standards are implemented to avoid defective products and frequent machine breakdowns and manage maintenance activities to maximize plant availability
• Deliver target beer volumes within budget and become the role model for World Class Manufacturing (WCM) performance to Packaging staff and managers Identify training needs and provide training to all staff to enable them acquire desired skills levels.
• Ensure adherence to all safety rules and requirements at the workplace.

• A honours Bachelors degree in Science, Food Science, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Post-graduate
• Diploma in Brewing and/or AME Diploma from IGB highly preferable

Experience
• Ten (10) years experience with at least 5 (five) years management experience in a Brewing or Packaging Industry.
• Experience in food or drink manufacturing environment, management of people performance and development and Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety in the food or drink manufacturing industry
