AMREF is an independent, non profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) whose mission is to “improve the health of disadvantaged people in Africa as a means for them to escape poverty and improve the quality of their lives”. AMREF has over 500 employees throughout Africa with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. AMREF has offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania. AMREF has thirteen National offices in Europe and North America for liaisons and fundraising. AMREF Tanzania, one of the fast expanding country office programmes is largely supported by multilateral , Bilateral and national donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDS/TB/STI, Family Health, Water and sanitation, Malaria, Training, clinical outreach and disaster management. AMREF Tanzania is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified , experienced and motivated individuals to fill the following positions:- Job Objectives: Focal point for project results management using result-based framework, coordination and harmonization of evidences. Provide key function for monitoring project activities alongside the set objectives, targets, and expected outcomes. Reports to Programme Manager-Tuitetee
Qualification:
Qualifications and Experience:
• Masters degree in public health or related subjects such as demography, health informatics, statistics, epidemiology or equivalent.
• Minimum three (3) years experience in monitoring and evaluation of health, SRH or HIV/AIDS programs.
• Skills and experience in M&E capacity building for individuals and organizations
• Previous M&E experience in a results-based models
• Proficiency in evaluation design and development of indicators.
• Good working knowledge of descriptive, inferential and advanced statistics.
• Strong qualitative, quantitative and analytical skills and ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical colleagues
Duties and Responsibilities;
• Providing leadership in managing project results using results –based frameworks and the reporting tools.
• Participate in the Ministry of Health, HMIS and other national activities that relate to the development and adoption of SRH indicators into the national HMIS and reporting system.
• Design and revise appropriate monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes and tools for sub-grantees and build M&E Capacity among project partners and the local government departments in the relevant municipalities in Iringa and Dar es Salaam.
• Providing leadership in monitoring quality of SRH services through conduct of surveys e.g
exit interviews, mystery clients.
• Provide M&E training and on-going assistance to project team and the sub-grantees to ensure quality data collection , transmittal, analysis, use of data for decision making and timely report writing.
• Provide leadership and technical guidance for the preparation of annual, sem-annual and other required projects reports.
• Documentation and dissemination of information, assisting developing presentations, abstracts, articles, etc.
• Proactively work with sub-grantees and manager to prepare performance data for the collected reports.
• Evaluate results achieved by program and partners against their targets and track overall progress in achieving the program goals.
• Work with advocacy and policy analysis teams in identification of lessons/evidences to feed into policy reviews, generation of advocacy agenda.
• Lead on program operational research and evaluation (baseline, mid and end-of project) studies.
• Compile feedback to be shared with the Regional and Municipality authorities, the MOHSW and Sida on results and best practices.
