AMREF has over 500 employees throughout Africa with its headquarters in Nairobi, Kenya. AMREF has offices in Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, South Africa and Tanzania. AMREF has thirteen National offices in Europe and North America for liaisons and fundraising. AMREF Tanzania, one of the fast expanding country office programmes is largely supported by multilateral , Bilateral and national donors, implementing several programmes including HIV/AIDS/TB/STI, Family Health, Water and sanitation, Malaria, Training, clinical outreach and disaster management. AMREF Tanzania is therefore seeking to recruit highly qualified , experienced and motivated individuals to fill the following positions:- Job Objectives: To improve utilization of comprehensive PMTCT and nutrition services among HIV positive pregnant women, post natal clients and their children. Strengthen community systems to support deliver of the continuum of PMTCT services alongside the formal health system. Assist the PMTCT project Manager in programming and managing PMTCT project activities. Report to Project Manager-MM Project:-
Qualification:
Qualifications and Experience:
• Advanced diploma or Degree in Nursing/Medicine or Degree in sociology or Community Development, Masters of public health, Sociology or related subjects will be an added advantage.
• 3 years and above experience in implementation of PMTCT interventions
• Program monitoring and evaluation experience is an added advantage
• Strategic thinking and analytic skills.
• Management skills
• Experience in project planning, implementation, monitoring and timely reporting on activities;
• Team building skills;
• Networking skills with project staff, partners and government leaders
Duties and Responsibilities:
• To build capacity of community health workers and village health committees to play a full and effective role in planning, delivery and monitoring PMTCT and nutrition services alongside the health system.
• Technical support to mother support group leaders to conduct client follow-up, facilitate HIV exposed children and adults to receive the continuum of PMTCT services.
• To provide PMTCT and nutrition education as well as psychosocial support to HIV positive pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and male spouses including adolescents living with HIV.
• Participate in documentation of best practices, development of concept notes and funding proposals,
• Working closely with IEC and Community mobilization project officers in strengthening the Community –based PMTCT services in the PMTCT sites.
• Follow up submission of monthly PMTCT reports from sub grantees and assist project manager in preparing quarterly reports.
• Assist in monitoring and reporting on PMTCT performance indicators
• Represent AMREF in various stakeholders meeting.
